In the past few years, Bahrain has positioned itself at the vanguard of the economic progress in the region with the development of many large commercial, industrial and residential multi-storeyed projects. Regardless of the economic slowdown, Bahrain contin-ues to catalyze the growth of the market. This rapid rise of Bahrain’s economy increased the demand on services including power and water, contributing in growing energy & water consumption and exhausting our natural resources.

The climate change and sustainability of natural resources is one of the most challenging issues at present time and measures need to be taken immediately to resolve this problem. The expo’s initiative is to advance sustainability in Bahrain natural resources, and focus on concurrently developing a number of alternatives and developing strategic long-term goals for energy use, greenhouse gas emissions reduction, water use and waste reduction, green building and transportation as well as community programs to support the initiative.
